Love and Pizza

It all began one summer night in a hipster pizza restaurant in Brooklyn. Bryn was having dinner with a table of friends and Pablo was dropping in for a cocktail with his friend the bartender. Though the restaurant’s original location didn’t last, the love did. Motorino at Metropolitan & Lorimer not only brought together Pablo & Bryn, but also their dear friend Aileen (the bartender) & her husband. Maybe it was something in the sauce.

The sweltering summer night had browned out the A/C. Bryn remembers hanging on every word while Pablo made her laugh. She asked him about his travel and the short time he would be staying in New York. Pablo remembers the fan and its cinematic effect on Bryn’s wild hair.

After dinner they waited for Aileen to get off work and headed up the street for a whiskey. While cozied up at a wooden table in the Brooklyn patio, the heatwave broke, the sky opened up and the rain began. They went inside for a few more drinks. Two days later, Pablo called Bryn to see if she would meet him for dinner. She said “yes”.

Accommodations

We are reserving a 15 room mansion with attendants where we will be hosting the Welcome Cocktail. This home is in Old Town, a beautiful converted colonial property with a pool and jacuzzi, a roofdeck and gorgeous views of Cartagena. If you are interested in one of these rooms with a private bathroom, please check the box in the RSVP ($195/night). Currently this is our “hotel” option.

Cartagena has beautiful houses for rent. We've combed the listings. Here are the best, organized by price. Many accommodations are intimate versions of mini hotels, which are fully staffed with housekeepers and attendants to help you navigate the city.

If you are not able to find accommodations that suit your needs, or would like help connecting with other guests to share a property, please do not hesitate to contact us:

Travel

  • Please renew your passport NOW if it expires before June 2019 (ya need six months window or some immigration agents get difficult).
  • Downtown Cartagena is a short $10 taxi ride from the airport. Taxis are right outside the terminal, but you should get some pesos first (see next bullet point). Street names in Cartagena are downright contradictory, so have a pin on a map of where you are going.
  • When you arrive, keeping walk past the taxis outside and back into the main terminal, then walk all the way to the other end of the terminal to grab cash from the Banco de Colombia ATM ("Caja Automatica") -- that's the one that works for us anyway.
  • If you're travelling into the jungle after the wedding you might need some shots (not the kind we will be serving).
  • If you are worried about Zika, please consult with your doctor (the easy-going one).
  • Stay posted for updates on FUN STUFF!
